Alick Athanaze is a prolific top-order batter in the West Indies domestic circuit and represents Windward Islands. The southpaw made his List-A debut against the West Indies U-19 team in January 2017. But, soon, he forayed into the other two formats as well. Athanaze emerged as the top-scorer of the U-19 World Cup 2018 with 418 runs in six innings and was named the rising star of the squad by the International Cricket Council (ICC). The Dominica-born made it big in the domestic T20 and T10 tournaments and hogged the limelight due to his ball-striking abilities. Since 2022, Athanaze has been part of the West Indies A team, with the most recent appearance against the Bangladesh A team. In the Super 50 Cup 2022-23, the 24-year-old mustered 292 runs in six outings, with two successive centuries. Leading the Windward Islands against Guyana, Athanaze dished out his maiden First-Class hundred in February 2023. In the same month, the Dominican batter earned a call-up to the West Indies Test side for the South Africa series. (As of March 2023)
