A hard-hitting opening batsman, Aneurin Donald follows a simple mantra when he walks out to bat: See ball, hit ball. It's that easy and simple. He may not have any connections with the Indian great Virender Sehwag, but Donald's batting, most certainly, reminds you a shade of Sehwagness in his style and approach. At Clown Bay in 2016, Donald blitzed 234 off 136 balls and equalled the record for fastest double hundred in first-class cricket. Incidentally, that was Donald's maiden Championship hundred and he was just 18 when he thrashed Derbyshire bowlers to all corners. The fact that he smashed a six to reach his 100, 150 and 200 revealed the kind of player he is and of course, the promise and panache.
